Colors

One of the main things that I thought was very interesting about the presentation at the library was the use of color in writing. There were multiple examples that she showed us where color was used, one of which was the portion written from the bible and the other was the collection of poems by Shakespeare.
In the first example, the writing from the bible, the writer utilized reds and blues to make the script more colorful. However, the collection of poems was much different. For this the cover of the book was made with leather that, not only were various colors, but they also were different textures. Additionally, on every single page there was a mini illustration that utilized colors from blue to pink.  The illustrations were all similar; however, they were also all slightly different which made them interesting to look at. By adding this color and detail the text became even more entertaining to look at as well as luxurious.
I really enjoyed our little “field trip,” I think that it was interesting to see all of the old text and it added a little more perspective into what we are reading and the different time periods that they were created in. Of course it was also a nice change of pace.
